Impacted wisdom tooth with a cyst

Impacted wisdom teeth may cause pain, decays, gum inflammation and front teeth crowding. But sometimes wisdom teeth can cause serious problems.

In this case, a large infection cyst associated with lower right mandibular wisdom tooth gave the patient severe pain. The patient had to be managed by a oral and maxillary surgeon who performed an urgent operation to remove the cyst and wisdom tooth under general anesthetics. The pathology showed it was an odontogenic keratocyst.

It is wise to have your wisdom teeth checked before it goes seriously wrong! This is just one reason why regular dental checkup is important.
