When a tooth breaks to the gum line, it may be extremely difficult to fix it and that's why an extraction is often recommended. Then a denture, bridge or implant will be recommended to replace the missing tooth. But bear in mind, no replacement is better than your own tooth even though dental implants are very successful today.
That's why we try our best to save the tooth if possible.
This front tooth had been started with root canal treatment by the previous dentist and fractured before root canal treatment completed. A x-ray was taken to make sure the root stump was still restorable. Then the tooth was built up with procedures of root canal treatment, post and white filling. The aesthetic result was very satisfactory. The tooth will need crown lengthening and a porcelain crown to achieve a long term good result.
