Removal of tartar, plaque and stains on teeth.

2-Jul-2019

Tartar, also called calculus, is a crusty deposit that can trap stains on the teeth and cause discoloration. If plaque is not removed regularly, and completely, minerals in your saliva combine with plaque to form crystals that harden into tartar. Tartar can also form at and underneath the gumline and can irritate gum tissues.

It can contribute to tooth decay, bad breath and serious forms of gum disease. Not only can tartar threaten the health of your teeth and gums, it is also a cosmetic problem. Because tartar is more porous, it absorbs stains easily. So if you are a coffee or tea drinker, or if you smoke, it is especially important to prevent tartar buildup.

In this case, the surface of tartar was rough and attracted cigarette stains because of heavy smoking. The teeth looked nice and clean after removing all the tartar, plaque and tobacco stains.

How can I Prevent Tartar Buildup? Easy as 123:

  1. Brushing twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste.

  2. Flossing once a day.

  3. Regular dental checkups and professional cleanings.
